BROWN-SUGAR COLA RIBS
1 cup brown sugar
12 ounces cola
1/2 cup Cattlemen's Authentic Smoke House Barbecue Sauce
2 medium onions, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 to 3 pounds meaty pork spareribs, cut into 3- to 4-rib portions
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients (except the ribs) and stir until mixed. Add the ribs to the sauce and marinate in the refrigerator for two hours.
WHEN READY TO COOK:
Drain ribs, pouring marinade into a saucepan. Boil marinade for 12 minutes and reserve half for basting and the other half for serving on the side (see note).
Grill ribs over high heat for 1 minute per side. Cook covered over indirect heat of grill for 1 hour or until ribs are not pink near the bone. Baste with remaining sauce.
Note: To thicken reserved sauce, combine 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Mix into reserved sauce and bring to boil. Cook until thick, about 1 minute.
