Recipe(tried): Busy Day Beef Stew

BUSY DAY BEEF STEW

1 1/2 to 2 lbs stewing beef
4 carrots, cut in large pieces
4 stalks celery, cut in large pieces
3 onions, cut in quarters, if large, adjust size accordingly
1 (20 oz) can tomatoes (2 1/2 cups)
3 tablespoons minute tapioca (don't level spoon)
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Place ingredients in tightly covered pan in order given:

Place in 250 degree oven for 5 hours.

About 1 1/2 hours before stew is done, add:
4 or 5 pared cut up potatoes (leave on the chunky side)

Cover, and continue to bake.

Absolutely delicious, and a great meal when you have a hurried day.
