Recipe(tried): Candied Pecans/Walnuts

Candied nuts delicious served alone or in crispy salads.

2 cups shelled wanlut or pecan halve
1 cup superfine sugar
1/2 cup water
salt

Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until mixture crystallizes, about 15 minutes. Brush over a single layer of pecan/walnut halves placed on a large baking pan coated with cooking spray. Lightly sprinkle with salt. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 15 minutes. Turn with a non-stick spatula and bake an additional
15 minutes. Cool and store in an airtight container with wax paper between layers.
