Recipe: Cheese Rolls (using honey)
Misc.CHEESE ROLLS
8 cups flour, divided use
2 teaspoons salt
2 packages of active dry yeast
3/4 cup butter or margarine, divided use
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup honey
3 eggs
2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
In a large bowl, combine 6 cups flour, salt and yeast. Stir well; set aside.
In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup butter, milk, honey and eggs. Cook slowly at 130 degrees F.
Add cheese and egg mixture alternately to dry ingredients. Mix until soft dough forms. Gradually stir in remaining flour. Turn dough on floured surface. Knead for 10 minutes. Transfer to large greased bowl. Melt remaining butter in a small pan. Brush on top of dough. Let rise until double in size.
Turn dough on floured surface, punch down and shape into 3-inch balls. Place in a greased pan with sides touching. Brush with remaining melted butter. Let rise until double in size.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 30-35 minutes.
