Recipe: Lemon Torte - like Maricar's Bakery (Covina CA) Lemon Cake

I think that I have finally found the recipe:

LEMON TORTE

FOR THE CAKE:
1 (18 3/4 oz.) package yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
Filling (recipe follows)

FOR THE FILLING:
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 cups whipped cream

Combine (dry) cake mix, eggs, butter, 1/2 cup water and lemon juice and beat well. Place in 2 greased 8-inch cake pans.

Bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees F. Allow cake to cool.

Meanwhile, combine filling ingredients and mix well.

When cake is completely cooled, slice each one in half lengthwise. Place filling in between each layer of cake to create a torte. Slice and serve.
