CHERRY JAM SQUARES
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
4 eggs
1 tsp. almond flavoring
2 cups flour
1 cup cherry jam
powdered sugar (for garnish)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan.
Cream and butter together; beat in eggs and flavoring. Stir in flour and mix until well blended. Press dough into prepared pan.
Mark dough in squares; drop a teaspoon of jam on each square.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.
Makes 12-15 squares
