Recipe: Deep Dish Brownies (Hershey's, 1988)

DEEP DISH BROWNIES

3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 Cup Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup Hershey's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (optional)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease square pan, 8x8x2-inches.

In medium mixing bowl blend melted butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs; beat well with spoon. Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to egg mixture beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips, if desired. Spread in to prepared pan.

Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely; cut into squares.

Makes 16 brownies
