Recipe(tried): Chicken and Linguine with Alfredo Sauce - Easy romantic dinner for 2
Main Dishes - Pasta, SaucesI love to cook but don't have a lot of time, so...I do this recipe a lot and my husband loves it. Some wine, candles, and a cute dress is all you have to add. And there you have it, a romantic evening. Okay...
CHICKEN AND LINGUINE WITH ALFREDO SAUCE
FOR THE CHICKEN:
3 to 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
lemon pepper seasoning (found in the spice aisle)
FOR THE PASTA AND SAUCE:
1 box linguine
1 small (8 oz) carton heavy (whipping) cream
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter of margarine
1 can of parmesan cheese (don't know the oz., the Kraft kind in the green can.)
garlic salt (to taste)
fresh parsley (garnish)
TO PREPARE THE CHICKEN:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Rinse the chicken put in a glass baking dish with some olive oil on top. Bake until tender and center is not pink.
TO PREPARE THE PASTA AND SAUCE:
While that is cooking (easy, huh?) cook linguine according to package directions.
Okay now in a sauce pot bring butter and whipping cream to a boil. Slowly add cheese and stir until it is all melted. Add about 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt (depends on how much you like.) Simmer about 10 minutes or until at its desired thickness (will thicken upon standing.)
Drain pasta and mix in sauce.
TO SERVE:
Place a portion of pasta on each plate. Place baked chicken breast on top and adorn plate with some fresh parsley.
All you need now is some garlic bread out of the freezer from your local grocer. NOW ISN'T THAT EASY? And the plate looks really awesome. Just like a restaurant.
