I live in Utah where weddings are big and make ahead like this. I had chicken, ham salad and tuna salad sandwiches with cut up fruit, tarts and cake for my menu. But I have also suggested a dessert bar, or themes such as holidays, chocolate, fruit. Just get excited take what you and your fiance like and get creative. August is fall, its hot try ice cream bars with different toppings. I hope it goes well. Good Luck.
