Recipe(tried): Christmas Day Lunch Menu

Holidays, Celebrations
For a Christmas Tree decorating party, I served split pea soup as the main dish, with fancy croutons (crostini I got at Whole Foods, broken up) and sour cream as add-ons. I made the soup from one of the mixes in the soup department at the grocery store, a double batch. I served sliced meats and cheeses, along with four different kinds of bread, fancy mustard, vegetarian mayonnaise (Vegenaise), loose lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes--you could skip the sliced meats, given the Xmas Eve dinner plan, just using the cheeses. I added some smoked sliced salmon and crackers. With dessert I offered apple cider and/or egg nog, tea, coffee, with Xmas goodies.
