Recipe(tried): CLEAN bath tiles -- that will stay nice

Misc.

I FINALLY have a good idea for tile in the tub area -- no more grunge!!

I have (that's just me) to tell from the begining but if you skip ahead to the trick that is fine ....

I went into kids bath months ago -- it had been some time and well it is not my fav place ANYWAY so here goes -- the tub was TERRIBLE the darkening of the grout was bad (moldy)and the caulk was yellowed and missing you know tipicle ignored kids bath.

Now that shower spray stuff does not happen in there -- 4 kids use this bath.

I started cleaning (after I decorated with new border and paint)

I scrubbed the grout CLEAN with bleach and whatever tilex you know the stuff we all use.

AFTER it was clean I pulled off the old CAULK (there was mold behind it!!) at this point no one could use as you don't want water with no caulk. and I cleaned those areas too.

I then used that whitening paint type stuff for grout -- U applyed it to the grout lines with a cloth, as per directions, let it dry then wiped it off the tile.

bought the new type caulk that comes in a tube (snip and use) no caulk gun needed.

I recaulked (hubby helped)

Now I had this wonderful CLEAN WHITE tile and tub and just knew it would not stay so I thought about it and tried this and it WORKED!!!!!!!

SPECIAL TRICK === I took "Brite" floor cleaner you know the yellow bottle -- I applied it to the tile walls! Yep I took my mop that has a terry cloth surface and applyed that to the walls kind of heavy -- not to run or streak though, I let it dry then did it again. I let it REALLY dry before they got to use it.

This was Months ago and to date it still LOOKS brand new!!!! I KNOW they have not bothered with cleaning it and I sure haven't either cept to see it needs no mother's hand yet!

I am THRILLED!!!!!

hope this helps someone
