Dear Sue,

Here are some recipes to experiment with. I couldn't tell from your description if the grapes in the coffeecake are mixed into the batter or a layer in the middle or on top, under the struesel. The preparation of the grapes (removing the seeds, etc.) is probably the same as to make grape pie filling. Here are some recipes for: Concord grape pies using tapioca for the thickener, including grape prep instructions.
