CORN FLAKE MACAROONS
1/3 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups corn flakes
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup broken nuts (optional)
In a 1 1/2-quart saucepan mix evaporated milk, butter and sugar. Cook and stir to a full, all-over boil. Continue to boil and stir over medium heat for 2 minutes.
Take off heat and stir in vanilla, corn flakes, coconut and nuts, if desired.
With 2 teaspoons, drop on waxed paper. These cookies get firm as soon as they cool, so work fast while dropping them. Let stand until set.
