Corn Flakes Marshmallow Treats
(This recipe is commonly made into "holly cookies" for the holidays by using green food coloring and red hot candies. Red, White, and Blue cookies could be made by using those food colors)
1/4 cup margarine
4 cups miniature marshmallows
5 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes
Optional: food coloring
Melt the margarine and marshmallows, slowly over low heat. Add corn flakes and food coloring, if desired.
Christmas: Use green food coloring and shape into miniature wreath shapes and decorate with red-hot cinnamon candies, if desired.
Memorial Day or Fourth of July - make into individual "cookies" OR color 1/3 Red, 1/3 blue and leave the last 1/3 white. This also makes a cute, edible centerpiece. Make one large wreath and place on platter. You can even put votives in the middle when using as a centerpiece.
You must work fast with this mixture or it will harden before you have it shaped. If that happens, re-heat in the microwave.
Have fun with this!
These can also be made as individual treats.
