AUNT BESSIE'S CRANBERRY SALAD

2 cups fresh cranberries
1 1/4 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 (3 oz.) pkg. red Jello
1/2 cup chopped apples
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup chopped celery
Heat cranberries in 1 1/4 cups water water until they start to pop. Add sugar and cook about 5 minutes longer. Pour boiling mixture over Jello (preferably raspberry). After this mixture cools, stir in the remaining ingredients and refrigerate.
HOLIDAY CRANBERRY SALAD
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup sugar
1 (3 oz.) pkg. raspberry Jello
Grind or chop very fine the cranberries, nuts and celery. Add the sugar and let stand 2 or 3 hours.
Make the Jello according to package directions. Let Jello set until almost set, then add the cranberry mixture.
If desired, this may be molded.
HOLIDAY CRANBERRY RELISH SALAD

1 orange, quartered, seeds removed
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar (to taste)
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) cherry Jello
1 cup boiling water
Whipped cream (for serving)
Grind cranberries and orange (with peel) together. Add celery and walnuts. Sprinkle sugar over this and stir.
Dissolve Jello in 1 cup boiling water. Pour this over first mixture and stir. Pour into mold and refrigerate until firm.
Serve garnished with whipped cream.

I hope one of these recipes is close to the one you're looking for. This is one of those very flexible recipes so there are many variations, using different flavors of Jello (lemon or any red Jello seem to be preferred) with some using oranges, others pineapple or chopped apple or combinations of fruit.
