Recipe(tried): Pat's Cranberry Salad with apples, pineapple, nuts, and jello

Salads - Fruit, Gelatin
We found our lost recipe for this wonderfully simple Cranberry Salad. This is a fantastic accompaniment for turkey!

PAT'S CRANBERRY SALAD
WITH APPLES, PINEAPPLE, NUTS, AND JELLO

2 (4 serving size) pkgs raspberry jello
1 can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
1 medium apple, pared, peeled and chopped
2/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Drain pineapple juice into a 1 qt size measuring cup. Add enough water to make 3 cups. Pour into a latge saucepot and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in jello, stirring 2 minutes or until jello has completely dissolved.
Add cranberry sauce and stir until well combined. Put in the refriderator and chill until almost set. It should be the consistancy of an unwhipped raw egg white. Add pineapple, apple and nuts and gently fold to combine. Pour into your serving bowl and chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
