Recipe: Deli Cordon Bleu (using cooked chicken or turkey slices and stuffing mix)

DELI CORDON BLEU

6 slices turkey or chicken breast (not roll)
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 slices boiled ham
1 pkg. Stove Top stuffing mix
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
2 Tbsp. flour
1 egg
1 Tbsp. water
1/2 cup oil

Have turkey or chicken breast sliced slightly thicker than for sandwiches, No. 4 on slicer. Ham and cheese may be regular slices.

Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions; set aside. Mix bread crumbs and flour together; set aside. Beat egg and water; set aside.

Place slice of cheese on a slice of turkey or chicken, then add a slice of ham. Put 2 or 3 tablespoons stuffing mix on meat. Roll up and tie securely with string. Repeat to make 6 rolls.

Dip rolls in beaten egg, then in crumbs. Brown in hot oil.

VARIATION:
Instead of frying, may also be placed in casserole and covered with cream of chicken, celery or mushroom soup, diluted with 1/2 cup milk. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Remove string before serving.
