Cake made with diet soda.
This is an easy and good recipe that saves calories and fat. One can vary it by changing the soda and cake mix.
1 cake mix --dry ingredients
1 (12 oz can) of diet soda
Mix together and bake per instructions on the box. Voila, cake that is good. **see note below
Suggested combination:
chocolate cake and diet root beer for a cake that is like a rootbeer float.
chocolate cake and diet cherry
white cake and diet orange
spice cake and diet lemon lime
etc.etc.
enjoy!
**Note:
From Meghann, Cary, NC:
This is a great recipe, but I would just like to suggest that you add 2-3 egg whites. It will come out much better. Just the mix and soda can come out crumby, but adding the egg whites, you still keep the fat low and you come out with a much better cake.
