Recipe(tried): Easter Bunny Cut Up Cake (the original)

Desserts - Cakes
My husband Bill, as a young Assistant Art Director at Young & Rubicam Advertising, designed the original Easter Bunny cut-out cake for an ad in 1955-6 for client Bakers Coconut.

As I remember making it, it was a white cake made in a 9x13 pan. A square made the face and the rest was divided for ears, which stood on the top, with the ears lined up with the sides. We used a white icing, and Baker's coconut, of course. Pink Jelly beans were the eyes, and I think the mouth, and licorice for the whiskers. I don't remember feet or a bow tie, that are shown on current recipes. Wish I had a picture of the ad. But you heard it from someone who made the original!
