Recipe(tried): Fudge Directions
Misc.Carol,
I made the same type fudge at Christmas for a friend of mine only mine used cocoa instead of the chocolate.
The way mine was done was to
*bring the ingredients(except butter and vanilla)to boiling on
high, stirring continuously.
*Then turn down to slow boil on medium. Do NOT stir.
*Let boil until a small amount dropped in cold water will make
a soft ball.
*Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla but don't stir.
*When cooled (or you can put pan in ice water to cool faster)
beat the fudge by hand until it starts to lose it's shiny
color and thickens.
*Pour into pan and cool in fridge.
Hope that helps!
