This is the one I make the most. I just poach or saute chicken breasts before adding to the pasta. Trust me, if you love broccoli, garlic and pasta, you will like it.
GARLIC-BROCCOLI PASTA
1 (16 ounce) package ziti (or other pasta)
1 large head broccoli, trimmed of tough stalks and cut up
Chicken stock
2 to 3 Tablespoons minced garlic
3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
Olive oil
Cook pasta and broccoli in chicken stock (add broccoli towards when pasta is almost done to keep it crisp-tender). Remove from the cooking water. Do not rinse.
Immediately add garlic and cheese to the pasta and broccoli and drizzle olive oil over. Mix to break up broccoli.
Serve at room temperature.
