Recipe: Garlic Cloves Crockpot Chicken (using parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme)

GARLIC CLOVES CROCKPOT CHICKEN

2 sprigs fresh thyme
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 sprigs fresh sage
2 springs fresh Italian parsley
1 whole chicken (4 to 5 pounds)
2 ribs celery, sliced
1 cup chicken broth
40 cloves garlic (unpeeled)
1 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 loaf French bread, sliced

Place 1 sprig each of thyme, rosemary, sage and parsley in chicken cavity.

Place celery in crockpot. Place chicken on top of celery. Pour chicken broth around chicken. Add garlic cloves around chicken.

Chop remaining herbs. Sprinkle herbs, salt and pepper over chicken.

Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours, or on high 4 to 6 hours.

TO SERVE:
Place chicken, garlic and celery on serving platter. Squeeze roasted garlic out of skins onto toasted French bread slices and spread with knife.

Makes 4 to 6 servings
