Recipe: Ginger Berry Lemonade

FOR THE GINGER SYRUP:
1 1/4 cups peeled and roughly chopped fresh ginger root (about 6 ounces)
3 cups sugar
8 cups water
Add all the ingredients to a large saucepot. Bring to a boil, and boil about 15 minutes. Let cool for another 15 minutes and strain. Chill.
FOR THE LEMONADE:
4 cups lemon juice (about 22 lemons)
1 pint raspberries, pureed and strained
Combine juice and raspberries with syrup. Strain and chill.
Makes 3 1/2 quarts
