Recipe(tried): Gooey Coffee Cake (using cake mix)

GOOEY COFFEE CAKE

FOR THE BATTER:
1 box (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
4 eggs, divided use
FOR THE TOPPING:
1 (1 lb.) package powdered sugar
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
Chopped nuts (optional, for topping)

TO PREPARE THE BATTER:
Mix cake mix (dry) with the butter and 2 of the eggs. Spread batter in a 9x13-inch greased baking pan.

TO PREPARE THE TOPPING:
Mix the powdered sugar, cream cheese and remaining 2 eggs together with electric mixer until smooth. Pour over cake batter in pan. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes. Cool in pan on rack.

Cooled cake may be dusted with powdered sugar after baking or sprinkled with chopped nuts before baking.
