Recipe(tried): Great American Cookie Co. Chewy Pecan Cookies - Variation

I love the Great American Cookie Co. Chewy Pecan cookies. I tried this recipe and was very disappointed. I tried it again and used butter flavored *Crisco and 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips. It came a little closer but still no cigar....Any more ideas???
