Holiday Wishing Cookies
Recipe By :Sack N Save
1 cup butter -- softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Frosting
In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat butter, sugar and honey until light and fluffy. In a small bowl combine flour, ginger and baking powder. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and blend well. Form dough into a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate until firm, approximately 1 hour. Heat oven to 325-degrees. Work with half the dough at a time, keeping remainder in refrigerator. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness, between two sheets of waxed paper, and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks. Decorate cookies with your favorite frosting.
NOTES : "Place a cookie in the palm of your hand. With your other hand, use one finger to press the center of the cookie. If it breaks into three pieces, and you can eat all three without saying a word, you get to make a wish! Keeping quiet is the hard part!"
