Recipe: Hot Cheese In a Jar (cheese spread with onion and jalapenos)

HOT CHEESE IN A JAR

"The jars of cheese, tied with a ribbon, make nice gifts at Christmas or any time when something small would be appreciated. Just remember, they must be refrigerated!"

2 lb. Velveeta cheese, melted (do not substitute)
1 medium onion, grated or ground
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk (2/3 cup)
1 pint (2 cups) Miracle Whip salad dressing (do not substitute)
8 canned seeded, deveined jalapeno peppers, finely chopped

Melt cheese in top of double boiler.

Add onion, milk, Miracle Whip and peppers to melted cheese and mix well.

Pour into 6 (8 oz.) jelly jars. Cool, then screw on caps and refrigerate (do not cover before cooling).

TO SERVE:
May be used as a cheese spread or let stand about 30 minutes at room temperature and may be used as a dip

Makes 6 jars (1 cup each)
