Recipe: Hot Fudge Brownie Cake (using brownie mix, crock pot)

HOT FUDGE BROWNIE CAKE

FOR THE BOTTOM LAYER:
2 cups brownie mix
1 egg
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup milk chocolate chips
FOR THE TOPPING:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup boiling water
FOR SERVING:
French vanilla ice cream
Hot fudge sauce
Chopped nuts

Combine all bottom layer ingredients in a bowl. Spread batter in greased 2 1/2 to 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.

Mix together topping ingredients, completely dissolving sugar and cocoa powder in 3/4 cup boiling water. Pour over batter.

Cover crock pot and cook on HIGH 2 hours. Turn off slow cooker and allow to sit in slow cooker 30 minutes.

Spoon into bowls and serve with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce, and chopped nuts.

Makes 8-10 servings
