Recipe(tried): How to Cook Butter Beans

In Va. our butter beans are really small lima beans and the only way I have ever cooked them is to place them in water with a little salt, a couple pieces of bacon for seasoning and some sugar for sweetness and just let them cook until they are tender. Really yummy with some home grown tomatoes.
