Recipe(tried): How to prevent browning on lettuce

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
ADVERTISEMENT
I have found to keep lettuce fresh I wash it really well then pat dry with a clean tea towel or paper towels. Then I store the loose leaves in an airtight container (eg Ziploc snap & seal or even a sealable bag) lined with paper towel in the fridge. As long as the lettuce is mostly dry (and not squished up against the plastic) it keeps for more than a week this way.
Cheers!
