Recipe(tried): More advice on lettuce and browning

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
It is true that you should cut the lettuce with a plastic knife or tear it with your hands to prevent browning. As for storage: I found that storing unwashed lettuce in the Glad "Fresh Protect" large ziplock plastic bag helped keep the lettuce crisp for MORE THAN ONE WEEK when I pressed as much air as I could out of the bag (without smooshing the lettuce) and stored it in the veggie drawer of my fridge. The only problem now is that I cannot find the Glad bags anymore!
