Recipe: Hydrogen Peroxide and Oxy Clean
Misc. Thanks so much for the hydrogen peroxide tip for removing blood. I had always done the cold water/scrub/scrub/scrub routine. I have two married daughters to share this with, also.
I have another excellent hydrogen peroxide tip: if you scorch something white while ironing, like a man's shirt, dab it with a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide and iron over it. It make take a couple of times, but it will remove the scorch.
As for Oxy Clean, when it first came out, I was helping to organize a rummage sale; we had a lot of lovely old, but stained, tablecloths donated. I brought them home, laundered and dried them; hung them on a drying rack, and sprayed them with an Oxy Clean spray (the powder dissolved in water). It took awhile, often several sprays, but old tea stains, coffee stains, and other food stains completely disappeared. We were able to salvage a lot of beautiful linens this way.
