MRS. SHARP'S CARAMEL ICING

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan, combine butter or matgarine with brown sugar and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil over medium heat for two minutes. Add milk and bring back to a boil.
Remove from heat and gradually beat in confectioners sugar, then the vanilla.Beat to your liking for proper frosting consistency. Sufficient to fill and frost a 9-inch layer cake.

Bet it will be good!
