after I'm finished with the vinegar water, I'll pour a little soda in the drain and rinse it down with it.

TIP: Use vinegar and soda to speed up a slow running drain. Pour few spoonsful of soda first near drain, then add 1/2 cup or so of vinegar to wash it down. Repeat if necessary. It's a little volcano in your pipes and helps move the gunk along.
