No Green Eggs , Sam I am...

Misc.

TIP for boiling non-green eggs. Cover eggs with cold water in pot. Bring to just under boil. Reduce heat so that eggs softly dance, not rock and roll. Simmer 15-18 min. Remove from heat and immediately pour off water, flush with cold water, and add ICE. If this melts quickly, add more ice. Empty pan of most of water with some ice remaining. Put lid on pot and shake pot up and down firmly (holding on to handle and lid!) Shells will slip off and eggs will be intact. No green rings around yolk and eggs are cool enough to handle in minutes.

I realize this is an old trick, but my grown children said they did not boil eggs because theirs always looked yucky. Where did I fail?
