Recipe: Jumbo Strawberry Turnovers with Frosty Glaze (using preserves, Betty Crocker, 1970)

JUMBO STRAWBERRY TURNOVERS
"Making these dessert turnovers king-size is a timesaver as well as a conversation piece."



1 (11 ounce) package Betty Crocker Pie Crust Mix
1 1/3 cups strawberry preserves, divided use
Frosty Glaze (recipe follows))

Heat oven to 425 degrees F.

Prepare pastry for two-crust pie as directed on package except roll half of pastry into a 10-inch circle.

Place on ungreased baking sheet. Spread 2/3 cup of the preserves on half of circle to within 1/2-inch of edge. Fold pastry over; press edges firmly with fork to seal securely. Cut slits in top.

Repeat with remaining pastry.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

While warm, frost with Frosty Glaze. Cut each turnover into 3 wedges. Serve warm.

FROSTY GLAZE

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 tablespoon milk

Mix ingredients for the glaze together.

Makes 6 servings
