Bev - I hope this is close to what you want.
Layered Cranberry Salad
1 1/2 cups water
1 package (8 servings) cherry gelatin
1 can (11 oz) mandarin oranges
1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple
1 can (16 oz) whole cranberry sauce
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
In a 1 quart microwave safe bowl, cook water and gelatin on high for 1 - 1 1/2 minutes until gelatin is dissolved.
Drain oranges and pineapple, reserving liquid. Add enough water to fruit liquid to measure 1 cup. Stir into gelatin mixture. Add cranberry sauce. Chill until thickened.
In a small bowl, combine mayo and sour cream. Slowly blend 1 cup thickened gelatin mixture in. Pour into oiled 8 cup mold. Refrigerate until just set.
Add oranges, pineapple and walnuts to remaining gelatin.
Spoon into mold over partially set mixture. Refrigerate until completely set.
