Lazy Day Stew
I found this recipe in a True Grit Magazine.
4 lbs stew meat
salt and pepper
2 tbsp flour
1 lb potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced
3 bell peppers, chopped
1 onion, sliced
1 stalk celery, chopped (optional)
4 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 soup cans water
Put stew meat in large pan with a tight fitting lid. Sprinkle with salt and pepper then add 2 tbsp of flour on top of meat. Add vegetables in what ever order you want. Then add four cans of mushroom soup and two cans of water.
Put tight fitting lid on and cook in 250 degree oven all night long.
Note: Adjust ingredient amounts as needed for your family's size.
I start this at 10 pm and by 6 am you can smell it through the whole house and our mouths are watering. I've made this many, many times.
