Lisa,
When I have had any problems sealing things in the past I just add a new lid seal and reprocess them. As far as the fridge I have never heard of that being something you could put on the shelf and it be good. A little tip that not many know is that you dont even need the screw on band on the jar after you process the meat, veggies or fruit. If I run short I take the screw on part off and re use it. The rubber on the seal itself is enough to keep your food safe.
