Recipe: Martha Stewart's (Lexi's Favorite) Chocolate Chip Cookies
Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, BarsLEXI'S FAVORITE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Source: The Martha Stewart Cookbook
Makes 30 (4 inch) cookies
1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened (see note*)
3 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cream the butter in a large bowl until smooth; add the brown and granulated
sugars. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until well blended.
In another large bowl, sift together the flours, salt, and baking soda. Beat
this into the butter mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop 2 to 3 tablespoons of batter onto nonstick baking sheets, 2 inches
apart.
Bake for 8 minutes until golden brown. Remove the cookies from the baking sheets and cook on a rack.
*NOTE: I have made Lexi's cookies very successfully with only two sticks of butter. I watched Martha bake them on TV and copied down the recipe -- I think her cookbook has a typo. - eb westport,ct
Hi Rebecca,
Click the Printer Page button to the right of this message to print a copy of the recipe. By the way, to print one recipe from a page with many recipes, highlight the text that you want to print by putting your mouse cursor at the start of the text and holding the left mouse button down while dragging over the text. Now with the text highlighted, right-click your mouse button and choose Print from the menu that appears. From the dialog box that pops up choose Print Range = Selection (that will print only the text that is highlighted. You can also choose copy instead of print and then paste the text into a word processor or e-mail message (by using the right click button again in the destination spot and then choosing paste from the menu that appears). I hope that's a help! - Betsy

I see Martha Stewart's (Lexi's) Chocolate Chip Cookies listed here. Is there a printed recipe for it I can get? I have an old Martha Stewart magazine with this recipe in it. However, since I've recently moved I can't locate it & I NEED THESE COOKES! They're the best cookies I've ever made! Please help fill my craving! Rebecca, Spartanburg, SC
