MILLION DOLLAR POUND CAKE
1 pound butter, softened
3 cups sugar
6 egg
4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Cream the butter; gradually add the sugar. Beat well. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
Add the flour to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Begin and end with flour. Do not overmix. Add the flavorings. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until slightly firm to the touch. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Makes 1 (10-inch) tube cake, 12 servings
