Recipe(tried): Monday night dinner at my house - Ham Au Gratin, Honey Bun Cake

Menus
Tonight I am having Ham Au Gratin, green beans, corn salad, yeast rolls, and for dessert Honey Bun Cake.

Ham Au Gratin

5 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup melted margarine
2 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 medium potatoes, sliced and cooked*
2 tbsp. chopped onions
2 cups chopped ham
1/2 cup shredded cheese

Blend flour, salt, pepper, and melted margarine in saucepan.Cook until bubbly, stirring constantly. Add 1 1/2 cup cheese, stirring until melted. Alternate layers of potatoes, onions, and ham in greased baking dish until all ingredients are used. Spoon cheese sauce over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until bubbly. Sprinkle with remaining cheese, and bake until cheese is melted. I use canned ham sometimes. It works well in this casserole.

Slice and boil the potatoes until just done(not mushy). It will cut your cooking time in half as opposed to raw sliced potatoes, which would make your casserole have to cook about a hour.

Honey Bun Cake

1 2-layer yellow cake mix
1 cup buttermilk
4 eggs
3/4 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup raisins(optional)
4 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine cake mix, buttermilk, eggs, oil and sugar in mixer bowl; beat 2 minutes. Spoon into greased 9x13-inch cake pan. Mix pecans, brown sugar, raisins ans cinnamon in bowl. Sprinkle over the cake batter; cut through with a knife to swirl. Bake at 350 degrees until cake tests done. Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl; mix well. Spread over hot cake.
