Recipe(tried): Lamb Shanks with Avjar

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
Hi People,
I love Avjar, this is my latest favourite.

Slow cook some lamb shanks in the usual way, however substitute your second tin of tomatoes for 2/3 of a jar of Avjar. You may even like to remove the baking tray from the oven and finish it UNCOVERED over a low heat until an almost jam like consistency is reached. I like to throw in a few chillies as well. Serve with pan fried polenta.

Also goes well mixed with gound beef when making meatloaf.
