Recipe: Mueller's Spaghetti with Busy-Day Meat Sauce (1950's)

MUELLER'S SPAGHETTI WITH BUSY-DAY MEAT SAUCE

1 (16 oz) package Muller's Spaghetti
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 green (bell) pepper, chopped
2 onions, chopped
1/2 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
dash ground black pepper
dash cayenne pepper
1 (10 1/2 oz) can condensed consomme (beef broth)
1 (8 oz) can tomato paste
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon vinegar
4 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Saute green (bell) pepper and onions in oil until lightly browned.

Add ground beef and seasonings and brown.

Blend in remaining ingredients (except spaghetti), mixing well. Cook slowly, uncovered, for 20 minutes.

Pour meat sauce over spaghetti which has been prepared according to package directions.

Makes 6 to 8 servings
