Recipe(tried): My Mac & Cheese

Misc.

My sister-in-law raves over it, but she still insists that she cannot make it to taste the same. It's a very simple recipe:

Make however much macaroni noodles you will be needing. (I use a 2 1/2 quart round casserole dish, and I always just make up a bunch on noodles and refridgerate leftovers)

Butter or grease your casserole dish. Layer half of your noodles in the dish. Put 1/2 of a small block of any two cheeses such as follows. (cheddar & monterey/or colby/or/ colby jack cheese). On top of the cheese, put a few small dots of butter. Layer rest of the noodles (enough to bring it withing about 1/2 inch from the very top of your casserole). Add the other half of the cheese. Dot the top of the cheese with butter. In a small bowl, beat 2 eggs and about 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk (this is the part that you will have to adjust maybe in the future--you don't want it too runny, but you don't want it dry either--this will be the trial and error part). After you have beaten the egg and milk really well, slowly pour this over the top of the casserole allowing it to work its way into the casserole. Put in the oven at about 350 degrees and bake about 30 minutes or so (til it looks like the egg milk mixture is setting up). I make mine covered, so after I check to see if the milk mixture is setting up, I take the top of and put in under the broiler just a very short bit to lightly brown and crisp the top. Hope you enjoy.
