Old Fashioned Bread Dressing
1 1/2 loafs of sandwich bread (dried for several days)(broken into uneven bite size pieces.
1 Medium Onion, diced
3 to 4 stalks celery, including tender leaves, diced
1 stick Blue Bonnet Margarine
Sage
Salt Pepper
Chicken Broth.
Put bread pieces in large crock bowl. Add salt and pepper and sage to taste. slightly. Set aside.
Heat chicken broth in medium saucepan.
Melt margarine in iron skillet. Add celery and onions and cook until tender.
Poor onion & celery mixture over bread and mix thoroughly. Add hot chicken broth a ladle at a time and stir until completely moist and mixed well. Taste and add more salt & pepper if desired. Bake in 350 oven for 45 minutes.
This will serve 12
