Recipe: Orange Spiced Almonds (Pillsbury Classic Cookbook, 1980's)

1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 cup orange juice
2 cups whole unblanched almonds
In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, allspice, nutmeg and orange juice. Cook over medium heat until candy thermometer reaches soft ball stage (234 degrees F.). Remove from heat.
Add almonds; toss until well glazed. Spread on greased foil; cool thoroughly.
Makes 3 cups.
