Recipe: Plum Kuchen

Misc.

1/2 c butter
1 c flour
pinch baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp milk or cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
Italian plums

Topping:
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp flour
butter

combine butter, flour, baking powder, sugar, cream and vanilla. pat gently into bottom and sides of a buttered 9 inch cake pan. cut plums in halves and remove pits. place round side up in rows on dough. cover with mixture of sugar, cinnamon and flour. dot with butter. bake 350 for 1 hour or till crust is browned. serves 6.

this cake freezes well. warm short time before serving. apricots, cherries, apples, peaches may be substituted for plums.
