Recipe: Pronto Pizza Burgers (using ground beef and English muffins, broiled)

PRONTO PIZZA BURGERS

4 English muffins, split
1 pound lean ground beef
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 tomato slices
8 mozzarella cheese slices

Toast the split muffins in the broiler until lightly browned.

Combine the beef with the next 6 ingredients. Divide the meat mixture among the muffins, spreading evenly.

Broil 4 inches from the heat for 8-10 minutes or until meat is cooked.

Top each with a tomato and cheese slice. Return to broiler until the cheese is melted. If desired, sprinkle with a little oregano. Serve hot.

Makes 8 servings
