Recipe: puffy tortillas

I just moved to Texas, and the ladies I work with told me "just add baking soda to the tortillas while you are making them", but I imagine you would need to add some thing to have it react with, I was going to try lime juice. Just 1 Tablespoon of each for every cup of flour you used.
